Palliative Care WA Inc invites all health professionals, volunteers and consumers to join us for the 2014 Western Australian Palliative Care Conference:

The target audience for the conference is:

•  Palliative care clinicians

•  Researchers

•  Acute care providers

•  Aged care sector

•  Disability services

•  Community services

•  Community members

•  Policy makers

The theme for the conference is: “Translating evidence into practice: Connecting the links”.  We welcome abstracts that are relevant to the target audience and link with the following subthemes:

•  Palliative care for people in aged care

•  Dementia

•  Meeting the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

•  Meeting the needs of people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities

•  Advance Care Planning

•  Building capacity in the palliative care sector

•  Increasing community awareness of palliative care and death and dying

The conference program will be structured to incorporate presentations from these subthemes. The following presentation formats are available:

•  concurrent presentations of 20 minutes each (including 5 minutes for audience discussion)

•  concurrent workshops (45 minutes each)

•  poster presentations
